Wow what a movie. This movie was letting me think in a whole new direction. I never really new what people that illegally immigrate to the U.S. go through and the part when the wife said: "I am not sure for it is harder, the people that cross the boarder or the people that stay back.
I was moved by her family. Her husband went 4 times illegally to the US. He wanted to make money for his family, because there has been no opportunity in Mexico to make money and life from it. In his case they had no other chance. The mexican government gives no support to their people, the government doesn't inform about programs for funding (only if you know someone that works for the government) and the corruption is tremendous. Everyone who lives in Mexico is in for themselves and you can't expect any help from people in a powerful position or neighbors. However, back to the family that stud out to me. The father left his wife and the kids behind and lives in the worst condition in the US, in order to have the least spendings and take most of the money back home for his family.
In mexico you make about 12$ a day and in the US 80-90$ a day, very attractive for many people.
But his kids were small when he left and he would go for one year or up to 18 months to the US. His kids couldn't believe when he came back. Also he describes his crossing under tears, which was hard to listen too. And it is said that it needs to be illegal. He walked in the dessert for days and couldn't feel his legs anymore, he was close to giving up. Another time a men died while crossing the boarder and they carried her but he didn't made it. I thought it is interesting that 1 mile of a boarder fence coast about 4 million dollars for the US, which we actually pay with our tax money. One of the Individuals interview mentions that america should be responsible for helping out Mexico and I feel the same. I think it would save us money and let the crime and Illegal immigrants rate drop drastically.

Thousands of national racist in Russia
A couple months ago I had to research the situation in Russia. There is a lot of talk about the anti - immigrant and bad management of Fladimir Putin. First example is the winter games in Sochi- which back in the day belonged to natives and millions were killed to extinction because Russian wanted to own the land. The side of Sochi is a memorial and genoside place for those natives. Millions are buried there and ones Olympia started building and digging they found millions of corpses and bones. Putin denied the whole deal...
It is also known that Russian and Putin are anti- gay so a couple days ago I found a performance artist (who is known for his self deflecting pain art) in Russia demonstrating in front of the red palace. He nailed his balls onto the ground and made a point that gay people should be allowed.
And I also found a article that mentioned the growing nationalist (nazi) "appreciating" and exceptance in Russia. There are nazis that go and find colored, immigrants or gay people and kidnap them or even invite them to a party in their house. Those poor individuals than have to deal with physical and verbal abuse. If there are lucky they will survive but some have died. And the there is no law against those nationalist. They can film and broadcast it so everyone can see it without any consequence.
But the article that fitted the most to the last class was the anti - immigration rally ... That happens in Moscow. People are pro nazi and support the approach against immigrants. Because they take jobs away or people that immigrate should life in the country like a guest and not like a citizen. It is really scary that the rate of nazis is growing and that there is Putin, who quietly supports the Russians.
We not only see the rate of nazis growing in Russia we also see it in Germany. Because there were simply so many immigrants. And apparently the standard to move there are not as high as in other countries. Which I simply think by more tolerating and be open minded, increasing the laws to make it harder to immigrate might change things.
Easy said though..... http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/11/04/us-russia-nationalists-idUSBRE9A30FN20131104

Immigration act of 1986
To me chapter 16 felt quite hard to read. There are a lot of numbers and just plain dry material to digest.
But I found it helpful to investigate the Immigration act of 1986 that Ronald Regon proposed. I found info to it on wikipedia and one article from CNS.News - In this one American Legion National Commander James E. Koutz argued the reform President Obama is proposing. He calls the grant amnesty for people that are illegal in the United States a "bad sequel" and refers to the Act of 1986. He says those people that tricked the system and became a citizen though a illegal way should be deported or don't deserve to become a legal resident. He states that this would be unfair to the people that went through all the struggle and filling all the paper work.
Anyhow, the article that I thought would be interesting to post is from the Center of American Progress.
It is very interesting and shows the improvements America has made since 1986. We have more control of our country and that was basically the goal as of 1986 Act as well. But this time America seems to be prepared.

Residency in germany
I guess reading through the different blogs. I wanted to know how hard it is going to be for my spouse to move to germany.
And it is going to almost the same as it was for me to become a american resident.
Here is a link that list all the things you need and they are defiantly in favor of some nations. Which is the same in america.

Immigration reform falls back
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/09/us/politics/immigration-reform-falls-to-the-back-of-the-line.html?pagewanted=all
I stumbled upon this article while looking or something interesting in order to keep up with all those great blogs this week.
This article is from September 2013 so it is a bit old. But it addresses basically the same thing that Dean is fighting for. Immigrants that been here a long time want to become citizen and fighting for their rights to go back to their home town without being put in jail or deported. They have been fighting and demonstrating for years but again republicans seems to have a problem with that and want to push back.

immigrant driver license in CA
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/oct/3/calif-grants-drivers-licenses-illegal-immigrants/
I actually think it is great to have a difference in each driver licenses. So the new driver license should show that you can drive but not ti be used as a document that says you are american citizen.
Many other countries already differ and have a driving license just for driving and showing their age. But if they are travel they have a identification ID and a different passport as well.
Let's hope that will make a difference in california.
